About Laura....
Laura Paton is a fine-art and documentary photographer creating personal work in addition to working as a freelance photojournalist for Southern Rhode Island Newspapers. This network of publications includes The Narragansett Times, The North Kingstown Standard Times, The East Greenwich Pendulum, The Chariho Times and the Coventry Courier.
Laura Paton is an instinctive commentator of everyday life and culture. With camera and lens by her side, she captures probing photographic images that bring to light the essence of ordinary lives, communicating to her audience a view of her subjects in their truest emotional state.
In addition, Laura regularly shoots sports, candid events, proms and senior portraits for the East Providence-based school photography company Mare Studios.
As an entrepreneur, she owns and operates her own photography business where she specializes in both private and group photographic instruction for children and adults. She is available to shoot portraits, weddings and other events, concerts and theatrical performances and more.
Laura has a true passion for nature and the out-of-doors, her favorite pastime is camping and spending time outside with her Girl Scouts. It seems only natural that her affection for the outdoors crosses over to her fine art photography.
Laura's photographic influences include Henri Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange.
Her vast collection of fine art photographs are available for sale in several shops throughout New England and online.
